A Weekend of Grace is a delicious journey into stillness. For two nights and two days, you are invited to relax as much as you need to. Immerse yourself into optional yoga classes, meditation sessions, guided relaxations, rainforest walks, an evening candlelit music circle, delightful connections, and enjoy the cosy fireplace. Or simply do nothing at all but sink into the green grass and wait for the dinner bell to call you to yet another mouthwatering organic vegetarian meal.

Here is some information about some of the healing tools and techniques used on A Weekend of Grace.

Yoga means the experience of unity, harmony and oneness through the incorporation of body, mind, emotions and spirit. Yoga grew out of the Vedic traditions and the need to understand the various aspects of human experience, from the physical through to the more subtle realms. Despite current popular belief, yoga is much more than a set of exercises!

Students are invited to practise in a gentle, non-competitive environment; to relax, unwind, build strength, increase flexibility, develop focus or simply quieten the mind. Classes allow for individual attention and variations according to the student's ability.

Each session involves postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and guided relaxations (yoga nidra) that assist in the release of tension as well as balancing body, mind and spirit.

"Yoga is the integration and harmony between thoughts, words and deeds, or head, heart and hands" Swami Sivananda.

Naturopathy is a science-based discipline that combines a diverse spectrum of natural curative techniques to support the vital healing force within, and address the whole person, as opposed to a set of symptoms or a disease.

Naturopathic principles respect the healing power of nature, and seek to find the cause of a problem, whilst encouraging conscious participation on behalf of the client to improve their own understanding.

Naturopathy achieves remarkable success in improving existing levels of wellness, working in areas of chronic illness and pain, and managing stress-related complaints through the use of complimentary techniques such as: Herbal Medicine, Nutrition, Food as Medicine, Iridology, Flower Essences, Mineral Therapy, Counseling.

It is based on the belief that no harm should be inflicted by the treatment - that health is not just the absence of disease, and prevention is the ultimate cure.

Massage improves wellbeing through stimulating circulation, which promotes energy flow and releases stress, resulting in complete relaxation and heightened feelings of wellbeing. Well-known for its ability to release muscle tension and tightness, stimulate blood flow, aid detoxification, and promote relaxation, treatments can be tailored by adjusting the pressure and incorporating aromatherapy essential oils.

Reflexology supports the notion that a person functions best when in balance. This treatment has an extremely effective way of accessing the body by massaging reflex areas on the feet - on the basis that all of the glands, organs and parts of the body are represented in the feet. Gently stimulating specific points encourages optimal function and helps maintain the body's own homeostasis. This is an incredibly relaxing treatment that makes a surprising difference to the whole person (and can be addictive)!

The healing power of touch has been long documented, and as a basic need, touch has the ability to affect a person in ways other remedies cannot. Massage and reflexology treatments are available in 30 or 60 minute blocks.
