Yoga means the experience of unity, harmony and oneness through the incorporation
of body, mind, emotions and spirit. Yoga grew out of the Vedic traditions
and the need to understand the various aspects of human experience, from
the physical through to the more subtle realms. Despite current popular
belief, yoga is much more than a set of exercises!
Students are invited to practise in a gentle, non-competitive environment;
to relax, unwind, build strength, increase flexibility, develop focus
or simply quieten the mind. Classes allow for individual attention and
variations according to the student's ability.
Each session involves postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama)
and guided relaxations (yoga nidra) that assist in the release of tension
as well as balancing body, mind and spirit.
"Yoga is the integration and harmony between thoughts, words and
deeds, or head, heart and hands" Swami Sivananda.
